The Free Medical Screening project was embarked on to support the aged, neglected and underpriveledged within some selected communities in Sekondi-Takoradi Municipality in Ghana, West Afica. The 2-day project took place on the 19th and 20th July,2024
The aim behind the project was to give back to society and bring hope to the marginalized, vulnerable and underpriveleged with respect to basic needs.
Most parents, the aged, as well as the underprivileged are in a dilemma as they do not have the resources to access basic health facilities, especially within the municipality. Though the NHIS by the government seeks to give some leverage to Ghanaians, many of these people are not registered to the scheme to enjoy some medical relief due to financial constraints. The ACE CORPS therefore has taken it upon itself to support such persons in any way possible through the free medical screening and support project. With the help of some medical practitioners within the municipality, the foundation was able to undertake its maiden project within three communities in the Sekondi-Takoradi Municipality in Ghana.
Providing health education to children,youth, pregnant women,nursing mothers and elderly people in the various communities and derived areas on health related issues.
This place is Sekondi European town,near the fishing harbour, where the health services were rendered to the individuals in the community. It was on the 23rd November 2024
On the 24 th November 2024 eye screening held Fijai.To identify individuals who have shown signs of glaucoma, Refractive Error and cataract in the eye
30th November 2024, the health team moved from western region to the central region of Ghana to do free health screening for the aged, youth and the school children and conducted home visits to the various homes in the community.The name of the community is Kwasikwa, near Dominase in the central region of Ghana.
